Two Sets, Two Seasons, One Appointment

Seasonal tire swap in Glasgow, KY — a swap (or changeover) is different from a rotation. Rotation moves the tires you are running to different corners; a swap takes one whole set off and puts your other set on — the winter-capable set in the fall, the highway set back in the spring, or the mud set before hunting season and the road set after it.

Because both sets are off the vehicle at once, a swap is the best inspection your tires ever get. Tread depth, wear pattern, sidewalls, and valve hardware all get read while there is time to act on it, and the set going on is balanced and torqued to spec like any install.

Each set carries its own TPMS sensors, so the vehicle has to relearn which sensors it is listening to at every changeover — skip that step and the dash light will tell you about it. The relearn is part of the job here, not an extra errand.

The off-season set goes home with you. When its season comes back around, bring it in and the changeover runs the same way in reverse.

Timing the Changeover

When to Swap — and When to Wait

Let temperatures make the call, not the calendar alone: a cold-weather set earns its keep when nights start dipping toward freezing, and it wears fast if it stays on into warm weather. Glasgow winters argue for readiness more than extremes — the goal is the right rubber on the one icy week, not a race to be first.

If the set coming off is near the wear bars, that is the cheapest moment to find out — there is a whole off-season to plan its replacement instead of a scramble at the next changeover.

Questions
Is a swap the same as a rotation?

No — a rotation repositions the set you are running; a swap changes which set is on the vehicle. Both are chances to inspect the tires, but they solve different problems.

Why is my TPMS light on after changing sets?

Each set has its own sensors, and the vehicle must relearn them at changeover. A proper swap includes the relearn; without it, the light is the vehicle's way of saying it is confused.

Is balancing part of a swap?

Yes. The set going on is balanced and torqued to spec like any install here, and the TPMS relearn is part of the job — not an extra errand.

Where are you located?

1004 Happy Valley Rd, Glasgow, KY 42141 — about 15 minutes from I-65 Exit 53 in Cave City.
